Your Birth Story

To Our Little Man, Tucker Dean,

The doctor told us you would be a big baby! Turns out she was right.

We were very excited when she said we didn't have to wait any longer to meet you.

"Go to the hospital to be induced on Sunday the 22nd at 10pm"

I was very nervous before we went and shed a few hormonal tears. At the hospital they hooked me up to monitors and I got to spend the rest of the night listening to your amazing little heart beat. The nurse gave me a little break from all the monitors every hour, I missed being able to hear you.

The doctor was going to give me pitocin in the morning to start the contractions that would bring you into this world. During the night they used gels to help get my body ready for those contractions.

When morning came, your daddy had to go into work for a few hours. Since we knew it would be late afternoon when you came, I was fine with him going. I called your Mammy (my mommy) to come keep me company.

Because of the gels, I was in a bit of pain. 20 to 30 minutes after daddy went to work, your mammy got to the hospital. 10 to 20 minutes later my water broke. You had decided to come meet us on your own terms. I didn't even need the pitocin. They gave me some anyway to help speed things along.

I text your daddy and told him my water broke. He text back, "It broke by itself?" I said, "Yep." His reply, "I am leaving now!!!" He got back to the hospital in record time. Which was great because I was in a lot of pain from the contractions. I had already asked for an epidural, and was waiting, very impatiently, for it when Daddy got back.

The epidural was amazing. NO MORE PAIN FOR MOMMY"

At 5pm, it was time to start pushing" It wasn't bad and an hour later, 6:04pm, you came out and met us.

"It's a boy!" was all I could hear. I looked at your Daddy and he was in tears. We were so very happy to learn that we had a little man to love! You weighed 8lbs 14oz and were 21 1/2 inches long. A big boy, but still our Little man.

Daddy went over to you while the nurses checked up on you. He was very careful not to look at the mess all around and did a good job not passing put. He had even cut your umbilical cord!!!!

Daddy got to hold you as soon as you were ready and you stopped crying the second you were in his arms. That is one moment I will forever cherish.

We had your mammy come into the room first to meet you. She got teary eyed when we told her, "This is Tucker Dean" She was so happy to find out she had a grandson.

Next your Grandma Thurell and Grandpa came in. Then Papa, and then all your aunts (all you uncles came later to meet you).

It was so much fun to get to tell them that you were a boy.

We had to stay in the hospital until Wednesday afternoon, and then we got to bring you home.

Daddy and I love you more than we knew we could love a person and are so excited to see you grow from our Little Man, into a big guy!

Love Forever and Always,
Mommy & Daddy
