I have been extremely stressed out lately. With the end of the school year coming to an end I have learned things the school really didn't explain all to well. With three weeks until the end each teacher recieved an end of year packet. No big deal for the teacher who knew it would be coming and have done it every year before. But for us new teacher it is OVERWHELMING! Not only is it a lot of work because I didn't know about it before hand (if I had I would have been doing things a little different through out the school year) but I have to decifer the code. I have to do and LPR, Cum folder, perm file, and writing portfolio (I KNOW!!!!!) My first thought was, back up the truck, a what and a what what?!?!?!? After I finally figured out what everything meant I felt a little better. I am now beginning to feel like I'm on top of things and each day a giant brick is lifted of my shoulders.
On top of all this I had my school work I had to do. I had a presentation to prepare and observations to do.
I was really beginning to feel burned out and exhausted and looking at the summer courses at Ottawa was the final straw. I couldn't take it. The thought of finishing one term and only getting a week of before starting the next was to much to take. SOOOOO I took a look at the courses I still need and figured out I can take the summer off and still get my masters by next summer. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SUMMER HERE I COME

The Power of Words
I really had a good day at work. I thought it might be a bad day after I picked up my kids from P.E. They had a rough time in P.E. I had five kids who were in trouble and the rest who had difficulty listening. Before I picked them up I thought I would take them out to recess afterward. When I got to P.E. the coach told me what a hard time they had. I let my kids know how disappointed I was in them. I took them back to class and told them I wanted to take them to recess but now wasn't so sure. I ended up taking them out to recess and had the big trouble makers sit on the wall. On the way out to recess you could have heard a pin drop. They walked in line so quitely. One of the second grade teachers walked by and made the comment, "you have such great control over your class" I was taken back. Here I had to give them a big lecture on how they have a job and the teachers are their bosses. They have to do what their boss says. But in all honesty, I do have a great class. They don't like to disapoint me and try everything they can to make me proud of them. They are 6 and can't control themselves sometimes but I guess thats expected.
I just really appreciated the comment from the second grade teacher and it really made my day. She probably doesn't even know it either.
