Wow! What a day! I am glad it is over and hope tomorrow will be better.
Lately my kids have lost all control over their actions. They seem to believe they can do anything they want. Today I picked them up from P.E. and the coach asked if I have been having trouble with them lately. They told me the class was the worst they have ever seen. They did what ever they wanted. I was upset, embarressed and disappointed. My class has always been known as the most well behaved kinder class and today they were the worst. I took my kids back to the room and had a talk with them. I didn't show anger, I showed disappointment. I think they were upset with themselves.
I have never been extremely strict. If they are doing their work I let them visit with each other. I think they need the socialization but apparently it has back fired. It's too bad. Now I have to be strict. I had to go over all the rules with the kids today like it was the first day of school all over again. I really shouldn't feel bad. Most first year teachers end up doing the same thing.
I has just been so frusterating when I tell the kids to do something and they completely ignore me. At some points in the day I just stop and stare. I think to myself, "I can't believe they are ignoring me!" I do think that my talk with them this morning really helped though. They were embarrassed for themselves because they disappointed me. They knew they messed up and I hope they can fix it tomorrow.

Photography
I was on my way home from Katie Ann's baby blessing today and saw the most beautiful scene. It was very cloudy out but the sun broke through for a little bit. It caused this sun beam that shone right in front of south mountain. I didn't have my camera with me so I couldn't get the shot but it made me want to get some pictures. So I went home and got my camera and headed up south mountain. Here are some of the pictures I captured.
